Love Letters: An Expression of Love and Trust
How many times has it happened, that words have failed you every time you have tried to look into the eyes of the person of your affection, fumbled and start talking of inconsequential things? Or when you went up determined to express your love for him or her, looking your best and repeating those well chosen lines over and over in your head that has been practiced over the sleepless night, only to start talking of the weather, the moment your beloved steps in front of you?
- Why a letter?: An expression of love is the most easy and yet the most difficult of tasks that some people have to go through! The joy of hearing a simple “yes” can catapult you to the seventh heaven and yet the trepidation before of hearing a “no”, makes things confusing for many who have been bitten by the love bug. The result- a nervous and wrecked expression, which is enough to make your coveted wonder whether you are sure about your feeling or not, in turn making him or her confused and answer with a negative, when indeed he or she would have too very much wanted to say a “yes”.
- Expression of love: A love letter is just an ordinary letter, in technical terms at least, but is called so because of the emotions it expresses. It becomes the bearer of your feelings, a communicator or your love for another person, which in probability becomes a life long commitment. Hence that first letter should not only reflect your love, but should also reflect who you are. No doubt then, the first criteria of writing such a letter is honesty. You should be absolutely honest about what you feel about the other person, and if you think that making the letter overflow with ornamented words would suffice, then you are wrong.
- Knowing your mind: The best part of writing a letter is that it gives you the chance to contemplate. Often so many things can run through the mind at the same time, that we can ourselves loose confident at the crucial moment, inspite of being very sure of our feelings. To sit in the privacy of one’s room and pour your heart out in the truest possible way, to see the face of your beloved before you, to think about him or her as you express your love, is an experience in itself, something which you will cherish in the later years as the night when you wrote to her.
And for your beloved, this letter will be something to be cherished forever. Not to mention, that in today’s mechanical life of rapid text messages and e-mails, the joy and touch of holding a personal letter, written just for your eyes, is enough to make someone fall in love.
