• Go to a place which both of you are familiar and comfortable with. This will help in case one of you is lost or stuck in traffic. In the same situation if you plan to visit some unknown place than it may create unnecessary tension.

• Avoid being inflexible with the plan you make. You may know what exactly you want but make sure not to be ignorant of your partners wishes. You need to keep in mind that the time you spend together is more important than the place where you meet.

• Ensure that you are on time. You may think that it is alright to be a few minutes late rather then feeling silly and waiting for your date. This will only mean that you will end up keeping your date waiting for you. It is important that you treat this meeting as an important one, so that you can give your date the respect he or she deserves. Greet them when you arrive instead of starting to look around for table.

Don't

• Dress in an inappropriate manner. The best way to dress is to opt for a business casual attire.           Ensure there is no sweat and also the dress should not be very low cut or provocative. Go for a light make up and also ensure that you hair is well groomed. First impression is vital on a first date. And equally important is your physical appearance and your personality. So, when going for your first date, ensure you present the best possible image of yourself.

• Maintain eye contact and smile when you greet your date. Though it may sound like a simple advice, yet it is something very practical. Most often then not the people on date get so nervous that they fail to focus on their date immediately. You should immediately focus on your date in order to give respect to the person who has taken time out to come and meet you.

Don't

• Do not answer cell phone calls when you are with your date as it may look rude. The best thing to do is keep it on mute or completely turn it off. It is only a few hours you will get with your date. So you can let your phone be silent for these few hours while you are with your date.
